On Monday this week we were told nothing more can be done to help my dads cancer so now we are looking at managing his pain. I ended up taking him to a n e yesterday and he was admitted with another chest infection after discharge just last Tuesday after 4 days in.
He lives alone and could not answer his phone yesterday or make a call so sat struggling for 4 hours before I got to him realising he was in a bad way. I have his GP calling me today and a hospice call on Friday I just don’t know what to do next everyone keeps saying there must be more support for him. Any advice welcome. Tia
Tia Sorry to hear about your dad. I think the way to go is what you have started already and get your GP and district nurse involved. It’s obvious your poor dad can’t be left alone at home. If you want to talk it over with Macmillan you could phone their helpline which is open 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm
