Hi yes the majority of us struggle for a while . I’ve got a blog details below with various links to other sites plus tips on what helped me. You need to keep calories snd hydration up to help you recover. Ensures or fortisip drinks help. Plus extra calories add cream to soups ice cream  high  calorie smoothies. Try 6 small meals instead if usual 3 normal sizes little and often is better

Have you been prescribed any medication to help ease the pain when swallowing?

No prescribed medication

I was prescribed a couple of meds to help anaesthetise the mouth and throat.  Difflam mouthwash to use just prior to eating to help anaesthetise any sores in the mouth and Oxetocaine and Antacid Suspension to swallow a few minutes before eating to help anaesthetise the throat.

If you're still taking any painkillers it can also be helpful to take something 30 minutes before eating so they're at their maximum efficacy.

Not much,feels like a blockage in my throat,doctors on tuesday

At least you have the opportunity to see somebody pretty soon so good luck and I hope they can get it sorted.
