Hi, I don't know where else to ask this question. From what I've learned a roof of mouth cancer is rare and there's no early stage photos online for comparison.
I've noticed a squishy lump on the roof of my mouth around 10 days ago. I don't remember injuring my mouth at all. The squishy blister changed to a red irregular patch, which then became paler and paler and smoother but not smaller. It's been a little tender but not painful. I can feel it as a smooth slightly raised area with my tongue.
I'm not able to see my GP for a few more days and I'm very worried. I'm a female, 46, used to smoke but gave up 8 years ago, occasional drinker, no history of oral cancer in my family.
The first photo is day 5, the second is day 10.

I'm afraid you can't post photos of body parts here in the Community. None of us can give a medical opinion. I know your worry is real and having to wait for a GP appointment is really stressful. Hold onto the fact that this cancer is really rare and even at referral 90% are not cancer.

Good evening KJoyce, its good that you have contacted your doctor, as he can have a look and refer you to see a consultant if he/she is worried. This is why we advise not to look online for symptoms etc as it can all become so misleading. Normally, a consultant will know straight away what they are looking at. I know they say smoking and drinking do not help matters, but there have been lots of people on here who have never smoked or drunk alcohol. Hopefully your Doctor can point you in the right direction. Please let us know how you get on, and we might be able to offer better advice. Good luck and take care.
