Hello all, Husband is on last two days of treatment but is hospitalised due to severe side effects from RT or Chemo. His neck is very badly burned but the Flamigel which he has used successfully until this week. Hospital say they have no alternatives. Any suggestions please?
Body parts aren’t allowed so no pictures of your cancer but a photo of oneself is perfectly ok.

Aw, smashing photos Hazel. Almost identical to ours when H rang the bell at Bexley Wing in April!
Oh, and thank you, too, for supplying more info about sun screens. I've taken it all on board and will be extra vigilant this first year. Thankfully the sun doesn't exactly crack the flags in West Yorkshire but I know UV penetrates cloudy skies, so I'll stay on the ball.

Sorry I’m late replying to this, hopefully his burn will be a lot better by now? I had the most horrendous neck wound following my radiotherapy, it was an open wound covering a huge area around my neck. It broke out suddenly, literally overnight, and I couldn’t get hold of my Cancer Nurse is so I went to the local burns unit. My neck was dressed with petroleum jelly dressings (Jelonet) and covered with soft pads, and kept in place by a kind of tubular bandage which went over my head and held everything in place around my neck, so no need for adhesive dressings. The wound took around five weeks to heal, but every time the dressing was changed, I could see a definite improvement.
I do hope that things are better for your husband by now though.
best wishes
Bridget
