Hi all. I am now 18 months post-chemoradiation treatment. I finally updated my profile to provide more information about my story. It's super helpful to read your profiles to know more about your story when reading and responding to posts. Thank you to everyone on this forum to remind me to do so!
I just had a follow-up with my doctor yesterday; and, I'm super happy to report at this time, there is no evidence of cancer!! My scans/appointments have now been moved from every 3 months to every 6 months (and we have regular CT scans here on a graduated schedule).
Whether you are new here, in treatment, or in recovery, this forum is an excellent place to find support. Treatment is really hard, but you can do it. Just keep fighting! I'm super grateful to be connected here.
Ps, my husband and I were finally able to have our wedding in July 2024. We were supposed to have it in August 2023, but, I had just finished my treatment (and could barely talk ). Thank you everyone here for the continued support and guidance!! ~Tara
Thank you Hazel! Yes you are absolutely right, one life, just live it! Thanks for all your help and guidance! Im getting ready to have my thyroid checked again, having a lot of fatigue lately.

Hi brigetb! Yes there is a wealth of inspiration here, many have helped me along the way, and I hope to be able to do the same. You are a such a wonderful support to your husband, laughing makes everything better, especially after being on such a difficult road as this one. The dry mouth is frustrating for sure, I’ve just resigned to always keeping water with me! Thank you for the kind words, I wish the very best to you both!!
~Tara

Hi Loz, wow you are already approaching your 1st anniversary of the end of your treatment, congratulations!! I'm glad you are doing well! The first year after really can be really difficult. I hope that you are feeling well. It's a rough journey!! Congratulations again!
Thank you Hazel for the encouragement. You are so supportive! Oh wow, I can't imagine not having my water bottle always with me! Some days I even leave the house and I forget it, and I have to go back! The dry mouth gets worse at night. I look forward to the days I don't need it as you described. All in due time, I suppose. I'm just thankful to be here Thank you again for always encouraging us!! I hope you are having a good weekend so far. ~Tara
