Hi all.  I am now 18 months post-chemoradiation treatment.  I finally updated my profile to provide more information about my story. Slight smile It's super helpful to read your profiles to know more about your story when reading and responding to posts. Thank you to everyone on this forum to remind me to do so!

I just had a follow-up with my doctor yesterday; and, I'm super happy to report at this time, there is no evidence of cancer!!  My scans/appointments have now been moved from every 3 months to every 6 months (and we have regular CT scans here on a graduated schedule).

Whether you are new here, in treatment, or in recovery, this forum is an excellent place to find support. Treatment is really hard, but you can do it.  Just keep fighting! I'm super grateful to be connected here.

Ps, my husband and I were finally able to have our wedding in July 2024.  We were supposed to have it in August 2023, but, I had just finished my treatment (and could barely talk Disappointed).  Thank you everyone here for the continued support and guidance!!  ~Tara

  • Oh Tara this is such wonderful news. Thank you for sharing it and giving hope to all of us here just starting along the road. You look absolutely gorgeous ....both of you

  • Hi Tara

Great news....the beautiful wedding photo is proof that there can and will be great outcomes for patients who go through the treatment challenge.

  • Hi Peter! Thank you so much. Yes I agree, good outcomes are achievable, but the treatments are so challenging. I believe you finished your chemo radiation about a month before me, and I know you mentioned you several challenges getting nutrition and stabilizing afterwards. How are you getting along now that we’ve been out of treatment for awhile? I hope you are doing and feeling well!

  • Hi Tara , great news and congratulations you look beautiful. I read all the threads on her and wouldnt be without this amazing group of people that are so supportive. I come on here 2 years ago because my hubby was going through it and wouldnt be without this group. Wishing everyone the best xxx

  • Hi bridgetb, thank you so much! I appreciate that! Yes I agree about the wealth of support provided here. Im happy that you found it! How is your husband doing now since your last update September 2024? It’s also really hard being the caregiver, seeing the person you love going through it all. Kudos to you both! Thank you for saying hello!

  • Hi Tara

  • Hi Tara , your most welcome and these lovely people on here are truly inspiration. I love seeing everyones comments. Hes doing really well thank you and only issue he has is that he over salviates and i tell him some people would probably be happy of that as i see lots of threads about dry mouth. It gets him down but i just keep him jolly and laughing as laughter is a good medicine i think. Sending all my best to you and your husband and hope hes well as well xxx
