Treatment plan meeting

Hi all,

This may be a really stupid question but...

Will I know when the appointment is my treatment planning appointment? And will I be allowed to take someone with me to it?

Had a biopsy two weeks ago, I was being discussed at the MDT meeting today and I've just got a text and email with an apointment on Monday but no other details. I have left a voicemail but the dept are really not great at getting back to me.

Hope this makes sense.

Cheers.

John

Booklets are probably outdated when they are published... Still have some helpful sections

Indeed and I didn’t intend to dismiss it at all but I stand by the correction.

  • The meet the consultant for consent forms also includes a long list of scary side effects. Also the meeting told me I was having bilateral RT on both lymph nodes (just in case). This then meant I needed a feeding tube to my stomach through my abdomen. All quite over whelming although I had felt prepared. I had my sis with me and needed a break at one point.

  • I am sure you will. If you feel anxious I think talking here or to your team might be helpful.

My GP and Specialist nurse both reminded me I should talk to them about my worries too, even if they can't give information/updates.

I know how you feel, the wait is long and you are not sure what the waiting will lead to.

Hopefully it will be better news than you expected.
