Hi again

I’m currently in hospital after having a RIG fitted yesterday and I’ve never had so much pain in my life. I’m meant to be going home today but it hurts my stomach to move or walk, I’m so fed up, did anyone else suffer this much with the fitting?

  • thank you but iam home they done bloods and a bag of i b fluids they offered to keep me in until treatment over but i dont want to be in hospital for 3 weeks but i got to see the team tomoz and i think i will agree to stay in until we got the nutrition sorted as nothing they have give me has agreed with me n ive spent the whole dat and night on the loo i didnhave a temp but bloods shown no infection my heart rate waa high at 122 but they was not worried about it so not long been home but think i could end up staying in tomoz to get nutrition sorted as at the moment i getting none x

  • I’m glad you’re home and hopefully getting sorted.

  • Hi Donna

Try and rest and get lots of fluids, try not to worry too much I had trouble with feeds but the team sorted it by putting me on a feeding pump on a very slow rate and body then got used to it so eventualy I could go back to bolus feeding( holding syringe in hand and letting it flow in ( goes faster than pump).

I hope over  the next few days the team can support you with your issues so that life can become a little easierFingers crossed

  • thank you i see the whole team today somwe see what they come up with ive ordered myself a nebuliser as well

  • Well done keeping your treatment going Donna, especially as you’ve been through so much. To hear all these lovely people’s stories of what they have endured and the great lives they lead now makes it all worthwhile. X

  • You got through another day. You're getting there and hugely well done. A day at a time, tick those days off. Best of luck for today. Hugs
