So a few weeks ago I woke up with a sore swelling on side of my tongue…did some rinses with mouthwash and seemed to go but has come back…went straight to GP who said it was around 1cm and has referred me on a 2 week wait to Max facial at local hospital…I recently lost my husband to Glioblastoma and I just don’t think I’m strong enough to cope…I have ear pain and jaw pain and I keep feeling my neck for lumps I’m like a woman possessed…my imagination has run riot and I am playing every worse scenario in my head…did the worst thing by going on google..I’m so sorry to bother all you lovely people but I don’t have many people to vent to…Ellie x
Hello Bird67, just saw your post & wanted to sympathise, the waiting to find out is just horrible, especially after what you've been through already.
As others on here have said, even if it is cancer it's usually curable. I just had my 18-month check up after tongue cancer treatment and I'm fine. While I was going through it I found this forum brilliant for info & support, so if you do get bad news please stick with us. In the meantime hang in there, try to keep busy and enjoy the summer though I know it's hard. Sending love and fingers crossed for you

They have a slot or a cancellation, that’s all.
They can’t say it’s serious, they haven’t seen you.
Great that you’re getting attention quickly

I only saw the Dr on Saturday afternoon for my 2ww referral. Phone call this morning to book biopsy for either Wednesday Thursday or Friday. I panicked until MacMillan nurse said as there was option it just meant there was space .
So saw specialist early this morning max fax and he was lovely I have a geographic and fissured tongue which I’ve had all my life but the lump on the side has gone down but there’s still a very small white patch..he wasn’t overly concerned but has still ordered a biopsy for 2 weeks time..he checked my neck and said it all felt completely normal…he didn’t make me feel like I was wasting his time and said any change should be investigated…so now I just wait to have the biopsy x
