Hi all.. I'm still waiting to see oncologist, but my throat is getting sore from constantly having to clear it... I've been prescribed Difflam, but I'm just wondering how the rest of you cope. I see BioXtra is mentioned a lot.
Hi.
BioXtra us good for freshening your mouth but that’s about it.
Difflam is pretty good but the spray is better as it gets directly to the pain.
I had cocodomol on prescription which I couldn’t get on with but it did help with the pain.
You can get a local anaesthetic prep called antacid with Oxetecaine which we get when we are having RT.
When do you see your oncologist?

Hi 9th if January that’s almost 2 months away. My first point of call would be either your appointed Macmillian nurse or cancer nurse. I was given a name on my first appointment with ent when they knew it was cancer. If you've neither the medical secretary if your oncologist are always good to get in your side. Yiou can usually find the number on the hospitals website if yiure struggling we can try and look for you if you give us their name and hospital
May we ask where are you being treated?
Am I right yiuve had your biopsy and got those results?

Yes, diagnostic op/biopsy revealed it was indeed cancer.. had biopsy on lymph nodes, but haven't heard anything about that yet. From what I can gather from a recent letter, the name of the Oncologist is Dr Shoaib Ahmed, Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Can I get your history straight. You were referred to ent on oct 2
Since then you have had scans and a biopsy and your results and staging
Next appointment is Jan 9th. Do you know what that’s for? Do you know if you are having planning and mask made in the interim
