Base of tongue cancer, neck lymph nodes. Treatment finished 16 months ago wanted to know does anyone else suffer with sore gums? Keep getting blood blisters on gums which end up very sore. I assume it’s not having any saliva any advice.

  • I used to yes. It’s down to a particular food so keep a diary and see what’s setting it off.
I bite my cheek as well which brings them up

  • Hi Onwards

I finished my treatment in August 2018 and still get cuts, bruises and blood blisters on my tongue and around my mouth at least every other day.  I know they're caused by something I've eaten and it doesn't take much.  As you say, it's the lack of saliva and the general sensitivity of the mouth and tongue.  I do try to chew gently but it just take a lack of concentration sometimes.......
