Hello All
Quick stand alone question, did any of you have quite violent tummy reactions when first starting Fortiseps. Dietician gave me some to try as I need to keep my weight up and had awful tummy pains and running to the loo today. I had similar when I first started IBD complete food due to mineral content, but not sure if this is through the foods or side effect of the chemo.
Thanks
Mo
Good evening Mo, i noticed this when i had Ensures which are similar to Fortisips, i found the ones with fibre did not agree with me, but as Linda mentioned it could be what Piya10 . Good luck, if it's not one thing it's another, take care.

Thank you both, dont think I am lactose intolerant as drink quite a lot of milk and i quite like the juice ones which will get a few more calories in me, trying to avoid the NG tube.
Maybe if you are having Fotisips with fibre you could ask for them to no added fibre or as you say keep taking the juice ones or try another company like Ensure, good luck Mo.

Hi Mo
I had just that but it settled after a couple of days. The first day was err......explosive.
Hang on in there Mo.

Hi Mo
Yes it was me. Terrible stomach cramps after drinking the compact chocolate Fortisips but, ok with the bigger sized ones. I am not sure I am lactose intolerant although, the dietician said there was a small of lactose in the compact version. I had tried for 2 weeks but, every time, stomach cramps. So I have no idea what's different but something was. I do drink lacto free milk as I started getting cramps some while ago, before any diagnosis and it stopped the mild cramps, but I've never been officially diagnosed and I can drink small amounts of normal milk in tea if I have to. They suggested I drink them over a period, so I drank 1 over a half hour period and that worked ! Perhaps give that a go. It would seem with me that trying to drink them in 5 minutes might have been the issue-go figure. Anyway, problem resolved. All the best.

Thanks Piya, however woke in night with slight temp and terrible tummy pains, sickness and diaroah so ended up being admitted to acute o oncology which is where I am they are keeping me in tonight. Neutrophils gone none existent and generally low blood counts. Hopefully be let out tomorrow, it all seems to have gone a bit peak tong, but they are keeping an eye on me and lots of antibiotics and fluids to get me up and running again. Thanks all for the advice.
Love Mo
Oh Mo. Yes you have to be wary of infection if you have neutropaenia. Fingers crossed they get you fixed and home. Xx
