Had a few biopsies yesterday so very sore still.

Update they can take cancer away from neck both sides and mouth, reconstruct neck,10 hour op,a week in ICU,London hospital as risk with my lung problem.feeding tubes then speech and physio,be in hospital a few weeks.if don't then cancer won't be gone and will spread.

  • Please try not to feel overwhelmed by your emotions, trust the team and trust the process, they will do everything they can to give you the best possible outcome.

  • Good evening Mummy, it sounds like a full neck dissection an is a very common operation and you will be in good hands, as you say it has to be done to stop anymore spreading of the cancer . If you have any concerns then please re-post and we will try and help you. All the best, take care.

  • It’s overwhelming I know. But there’s loads of support on here and many others who have had the surgery.
    We will all support you.

Try not to worry although I realise that’s probably a daft thing to say.

Take care. I had a partial glossectomy and neck dissection on right side and although daunting they know what they are doing. I am still in the early stages of recovery. Good luck.

  • Thinking of you. The Marsden is a centre of excellence and your treatment will be second to none. Xxx
