Hi Everyone. I hope this message gets to the group. I pretty much gave up when the site was revamped and between having my chemo and trying to navigate the new site, it was too much hard work. I hope you are all doing well and those of you undergoing treatment are making good progress. Since being re-diagnosed with lymphoma I have undergone chemotherapy, of which the last cycle was on the 23rd of July. I now will start radiotherapy on the 2nd of September. I shall be having 15 fractions and I know from when I first joined this group, that this is by far the best place to get good information from. I am looking to see the best cream To use and if I should apply it before each fraction or afterwards. I am having the radiotherapy aimed at the back of my throat and the upper sides of my neck. Best regards SJ61
Hi Stefan. I’ve messaged you on messenger but in case you see this first
Hi Stefan. E45 has alcohol in it. Some people find it irritant. I was given Diprobase but that’s really heavy and sticky. The best was Cetraben. You can get both over the counter but also in free prescription. I slapped masses of Aloe Vera gel on straight out of treatment in the car in the way home. With 3 weeks only you should be ok and get little reaction. Just like sunburn. How many Grays are you getting? And how are you feeling. Bloody good news with your chemo. So pleased for you xx

Glad you found.your way back here and congratulations on completing the chemo.
Hospital teams tend to have their own recommendations as to the best cream to use. I used E45 which was fine for me although I had used it in the passed for a rash on my face which definitely didnt agree with me it but Cetraben did. I think it very much depends on the individual and the skin complaint as to which cream suits. It should be applied after the rt session, not before.
All the best

Hi Stef
My hubby was given Flamigel to use during treatment and then Flamazine for after treatment.
Good luck.

Thanks Hazel. Couldn’t agree more about the timing of the new website. My team recommended E.45 but I will avoid it from what you all say. It feels like ages since we all spoke but to be honest I never really got too involved with the lymphoma group as I’d spent so much time preparing mentally for the treatment I thought I was having for squamous cell carcinoma. At that point I felt quite drained after being re-diagnosed and pretty much kept to myself. My treatment hasn’t been as intense as it could have been! although I’ve lost all my hair But I can’t complain. I’ve seen what’s happened to Mike0 and was lost for words! I’m so sorry to hear what he’s going through. Take care Hazel, lovely to hear from you. X
Thanks Uncle Keith, I had thought about Aloe Vera too. As you say 15 sessions won’t be as intense as 33 sessions so hopefully not too bad.
