Please can you tell me which non metallic moisturizer s there are as I need one to.use as I start my radiotherapy Tuesday.
Hi there,
I used Aveeno for extra dry skin (cream bottle/dark blue strap logo) twice a day then upped it to 4 or 5 times a day as soon as pinkness started. I was very regimented!
My neck didn't have any issues despite them being concerned when it started to go pink 4th week. My consultant was quite impressed at results, as he was worried because I am very fair skinned with vitiligo too.
Good luck!

Hey Chris
Yes I bought that as the receptionist said about it .. but after 1st week when I told the consultant & specialist radiologist they said guidelines had changed & not to use aqueous cream as a moisturiser. Something about it having slp's (?) or something in it. (?)..........Ok to use as shower cream but then rinse off but not moisturise.

Hi, I start my Radiotherapy on Monday and I was given a huge pump tub of moisturizer called Zero Cream emollient at the hospital. They also said that they had been told by patients that Aveeno was fab although they didn't prescribe it.
Wishing you successful Radiotherapy

No they didn't for me as prob too expensive (?).
I actually didn't get any cream on prescription as they said use just unperfumed like Simple but I knew someone who had used Aveeno for exactly this & also someone who has very dry skin and then showed my bottle to my consultant who said 'Yes that's ok'. I actually didn't ask for prescription tho ...duh!! .....
I did use the one with blue strap line on it tho for extra dry.

Actually Shelley its 'skin relief 'helps heal very dry skin" version the one I got.
All the best for your treatment x
I was prescribed Diprobase but found it very greasy and used Cetraben which I had for a bout of excema. RT team said it was OK. Put nothing on immediately BEFORE RT. I swore by Pure Aloe Vera gel which got slapped on in the car on the way home. I hardly burned at all ...just got a little red and flaky.
