Was in lymph nodes. Finished 6 weeks radiotherapy treatment in Aug 19.
Had a few ups & downs. Currently physio & Lymphoedema clinic. Thought I was recovering, but now feel i have got another lump in my neck and the strong metallic taste is back from when i was diagnosed.
How do i get confirmation either way ?
I thought this was monitored by the oncologist/ surgeon !
Panic attacks & anxiety starting again.
H Dave
5 months on from radiotherapy you should still be being monitored frequently. Have you a dedicated nurse liaising with your consultant you can contact to bring your next appointment forward?

Hi in 2018:I finished radiotherapy and chemo 31 st August had regular 6 week checks by local ent consultant and had meeting twice with oncologist.my pet ct scan was 4 January 2019; so I think you need to check when are you having your scan to confirm the cancer has gone as a-matter if urgency that should put your mind at rest. Do you have a Macmillan nurse ? If so get in touch and ask if not you need to speak to consultants secretary and get things moving.
Try not too stress , remember yiuve come through the hard stuff treatment .

Thanks, ladies for helping out in this post, i agree with this waiting time being too long, at one time it was spot on, they seem to be going backwards in that department. Best wishes

Hi Daveg710. I agree with what everyone has said. You have a new lump and although it could be all sorts of things, you need fast confirmation that it isn’t a recurrence. Please contact the H&N nurse again and secretaries of consultants and make then understand that you have a new lump, new symptoms and you are worried. The whole point of our frequent follow ups in the 1st year or 2 is to look out for this sort of thing and treat it quickly. You really should be seen this week.
Once you’ve got your appointment, I would head to GP and get something for the anxiety. I know I would be struggling to cope in your situation with this uncertainty. So sorry you are having to deal with this And fingers crossed you get a quick resolution and reasssurance. You may have to be a real pest though......
