Hi all,
I'm now 10 weeks post chemoradiothery still getting bouts of nausea hair thinning and skin around neck is like prickly heat again is this normal .
Hi Bradlou, im afraid i did not suffer from any of these after my treatment but they are side effects from the treatment the prickly sensation could be things settling down after the radiotherapy. Are you taking anti-sickness tablets? the hair loss is mainly down to the chemo and it should grow back in time, it will take a good six months for most of the side effects to quieten down. All the best.
Chris.
Hi Bradlou
i didntbhave the prickly heat or nausea but my hair did did thin ,like Chris says the chemo radiation is very powerful and our bodies take a battered g , my hair was shoulder length and I ended up having it cut into a short bob about 6 month ago som10 month after treatment and it has now started to thicken up niveley, I did loose hair at the back like mist if us along the radiation line that’s grown back thicker and curly !
i did get various hot spots after treatment noticeably my hip bone , lkus fook a while for my body thermostat to regulate itself I felt the cold much to chagrin of my hubby the battle of the central heating control !
hope this helps

Hi Bradlou,
I suffered from all of these but not necessarily exactly the same. My hair loss was originally neck and chin, great no shaving, but eventually my facial hair grew back but not my neck. I had minor problems with tingling around the neck but this also wore off. As for nausea I feed via a PEG but I don’t know if you are the same or can manage to eat. At the start, four years ago I was very nauseas and found it was down to the liquid feed I was prescribed. My dietician was great and together we found a feed that worked. I am four years down the line and recently tried going back to the NHS supplied feed and was immediately very nauseas. I tried for a couple of months but it did not improve and I have not reverted to the one that worked. All of my nausea problems were down to what liquid I was pushing into my stomach, once I found something that worked it was OK. Hope this helps.
