hello well i didnt think id be writing on this page again after my husband got the all clear over a year ago from hpv throat cancer. well long story short he was getting a few pains in his chest asked for xray which showed a shadow to then have a ct scan which showed cancer in both lungs! words treatable but not curable were the worse ones that day! were having a baby and not long been married why us again! its been so hard over christmas but not going to let it beat us. so onto treatment he is going to be having chemotherapy drug cisplatin with f5 has anyone had this combination before i was a little worried about it as it hasnt been used as far as im aware for lung cancer if anyone could help or give me a little more information that would be great x
Hi Kerry so sorry to hear your news,I am not a medic but if the cancer is a second the original Throat cancer it means that it would respond to the same chemotherapy used for Throat cancer which in my case was cisplatin the F5 I think is the one that they use in conjunction with cisplatin the exact name eludes me at minute
sending positive thoughts to you family and look after yourself and your baby.

Oh Kerry so so sorry
Is this a new cancer or a spread of the SCC?
There are drugs and new regimes being licensed all the time so I hope you can both get through this.
Keeping you in my thoughts

Hi Kerry, really sorry to hear your news. My partner had Cisplatin + 5FU as part of his treatment, i've added you as a friend so you can ask me any questions through direct messages if that would help. In the meantime, the Macmillan website has a good page on it: Cisplatin and fluorouracil (5FU). Take care.
