HI

My husband is a month out of treatment and the lump in his neck is still visible. I am concerned that the cancer has not been killed off. Is this normal

  • I didn’t have any node spread but lots of people have reported here that it takes a while to disappear and a month is early days.
Have a word with your consultant at the next appointment.
He will probably have a PET/CT at 12 or 16 weeks and you’ll both be reassured.
    Good luck

  • As Beesuit said there's always still a lot of swelling and scar tissue post treatment which is why scans aren't done for several month, area needs time to heal. Talk to your team if you're concerned obviously but I'm almost certainly it's nothing to worry about.
