Hi, I was diagnosed with metastatic neck cancer with unknown primary in Feb 2015. I’m doing ok, out the other side for now and would like to maybe help and support, answer any questions for anyone embarking on or going through such gruelling treatment! Thanks

  • Hi. It’s important that people know there is light at the end of the tunnel. Diagnosis and treatment is such a bleak place and this forum is great for support. I’m nearly nine months out of that tunnel, improving every day but the odd depressing day can still overwhelm me.

Hi, I’m recently diagnosed and still hunting for primary. MRI, PET/CT and CT none of which showed up the primary. I write this from hospital bed having just had tonsils, bits from throat and back of tongue along with laser thing, so they can send away and hopefully locate the primary. Suspicion was started in right tonsil. Doing my best to stay strong and positive, it’s so good to read some of the positive results stories on here rather than the imminent death I’m going to suffer according to Dr Google!

Has really helped me at this early stage to stay positive reading, even if I’m lurking and not reply to thread, about people coming out the other side.

    Thanks, Kevin

I had exactly the same issue...radiotherapy and chemotherapy were tough and recovery took me 8 months...I am now all clear and back at work.  Stay of Google and use this site...I walked 3 to 8 miles a day all through my treatment as my fitness was the only thing I could control..take someone to every consultant meeting as you will only hear what you want to hear...try and stay positive...I know its difficult but it will help your family...dont fight the treatment,  your doctor is doing the right things...you will come out a stronger person

    Good luck
