Hi.
Ive not been on here in a while just a little update in the wee hours of the day.
So I managed to get the rig and feel ok with it.
I had my first chemotherapy last week which wasn't too bad and met some amazing people it was really encouraging and sort of kept feelings at bay for a bit as we all kept each other up no matter how we were doing .
This is coming to the end of the second week of radiotherapy and things are starting to heat up.
As it's early morning it's as good a time as any to reflect on the weeks at the start where you feel like you are being carried along and stuff you get told feels a little unreal.
I'm still managing to eat but softer things with smaller portions and often. As no nausea I still have good appetite . Well I did until today when the effects ramped up a little. Was only taking paracetamol until yesterday but in the wee hours didn't cut it . Oxynorm was a god send. So felt a little defeated. Once the pain in my mouth was under control I realized I wasn't defeated just fighting with different ammunition. And going to continue fighting one side effect at a time.
Week 3 here I come .

Hi Abrn
Good on you. Thats the way to do it. Hubby gone through radiotherapy monday to friday for six weeks and chemo once a week as well. He started to struggle back end of week four but was still eating more or less normally until then. But the effects then kicked in with a vengence.
Everyone is different and we have learnt to take it a day at a time. One step at a time. Deal with whatever that day brings and move on to the next day, the next stage.
Hope this helps.
Keep going there is light at the end of the tunnel
And keep taking the analgesia. It’s there to make life bearable.
