Hi All
Hubby finished his treatment Friday 13th September. He was doing really well but now the skin on his neck (which has been really good compared to a lot of other folk having same treatment) has suddenly flared up dramatically and he says it is burning inside as well as flame red on the outside. This started on Wednesday this week. Did this sort of thing happen to anyone else? He had 30 radiotherapy treatments to both sides of neck. If so was there anything that helped?
Many thanks
Hi BrandyGirl
I'm sorry to hear the problems your husband is having at the moment. I can't offer any help, as I didn't have this type of treatment, but I noticed that your post had gone unanswered.
I can see from your activity that you also posted this question in ask about radiotherapy and I'm not sure if you've seen the reply from Eileen, one of the specialist cancer nurses. If not clicking here will take you to it.
When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your husband's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Thanks Lachbrook. I used to be a wizz with computers - before they went all high tech. I am not good with forums etc. Thanks for the heads up as I had not seen the reply - in fact I wasnt expecting a reply until at least tomorrow or tuesday so will look at that. I will put something into the profile about Hubby's journey after I have had a look at yours - did not realise that the profile could help others in that way.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Hi, I also finished my treatment on Friday 13th September and my neck broke out the week after, I continued using the creams I had been using 4 times a day aviary from on any open areas, which I allowed to dry and scab up, one week on and it had nearly all completely healed and is no longer sore or tight feeling. Hope your hubby’s heals quickly.
Hi Newly diagnosed 19. Thays for your input. Odd thing is that alrhough it was flame red with raised areas up to now the skin hasnt broken down. I am hoping that it wont do now. Hubby was admitted to hospital yesterday due to swallowing difficulties and dehydration. Today he looked and felt a bit better and the redness had diminished a little so obviously all connected. Hopefully onwards to better times.
