My heart goes out to you Lisamarie, reading the first part was bad enough as I suffered from pulmonary oedema myself in 1994 so I know how bad that is but then the rest, so sad.
I truly hope your team can come up with a plan to keep you around for many years, wishing you all the best and sending a virtual hug; will honestly be thinking about you on Tuesday, I've put you on the calendar over my desk so I don't forget.
This bloody thing leaves me speechless at times in its cruelty.
Metastatic SCC diagnosed 8th October 2013. Modified radical neck dissection November, thirty-five radiotherapy fractions with 2xCisplatin chemo Jan/Feb 2014. Recurrence on larynx diagnosed July 2020 so salvage laryngectomy in September 2020.
Hi Lisamarie. So shocked and so sorry to read your news. I remember your posts on this forum soon after I joined. Gutted for you and your family for whom this must be a terrible time of waiting. However, see what is offered by way of treatment - modern medicine is a wonderful thing and you may be surprised what can be done.
Thoughts with you for Tuesday and beyond
Hilary
Hi LisaMarie, the treatments available these days can achieve remarkable things. Don't give up hope, once you're over the shock you'll start to focus on treatment options and once you have a plan you'll feel so much better xxx
