My mum was diagnosed with scc 5 years ago. After a rhinectomy she was ok and her oncologist discharged her last week. When he discharged her she was having the occasional bleed and he said the occasional one was to be expected. Since then she has had 3 bleeds. One was today but she told me not to mention it to my dad as he panics and starts pannicing. She was only seen by her oncologist last week but I’m terrified something bad is going to happen. Do I tell my dad?
I don’t know what sort of relationship you have with your parents but if it were me I would like my wishes respected. I would encourage your mum to share with your dad but I wouldn’t do it for her.
Equally should things continue like this she should contact her oncologist ?
Just my personal take.

The most important thing is to support her and insist she takes this further with the oncology department if it persists.
Consultants tend to put discharged patients completely out of their minds.
It happens often before they are discharged. Lots of people report they get support while under treatment but little after
