  • Hi Kerry and Congratulations

Are you concerned that your husband's rt and chemo will have had some effect on your baby's health?

hello linda thankyou for getting back to me yes! were both a little worried x

  • Hi Kerry

I'm not sure that anyone on this forum would be able to answer your question although I'm sure you will hear from someone if they can.

I think the best thing would be to contact one of the Macmillan team on this site who would be able to point you in the right direction for advice or alternatively contact your husband's treatment team.

I wish you all much joy and happiness.

    Linda

  • Hello Kerry , I would not now where to start on this one as its a first for me , im afraid you will have to ask a professional maybe the oncologist department can advise on this . Like the others have said , its great news you are pregnant and wish you all the very best for the future , take care .

    Hi Kerry,

Congratulations. What lovely news - not something we hear very often on this site. All the happier for you both after everything you will have gone through last year.

I’m no expert, but I don’ t think  you have any reason to be worried. I seem to remember that there was advice not to conceive whilst a person was actually receiving chemo, but nothing beyond that. Especially as it is  you who are carrying the baby - should be absolutely fine. The sort of things that chemo can do (lower white cell count, cause nausea, hearing problems etc) are all risks for the patient, not for a baby conceived months later. I’m sure you will get excellent advice, more reassuring than any here, but if I was you I would be celebrating - I don’t believe you have any cause for concern. Good luck to you both,

    Hilary
