Hi ,
I was operated May 1st and doing reasonably well. I have moved from puree to minced and moist. Problem is I try to keep my tongue away but keep biting my flap. Not to the point of bleeding but bad enough it sits on my lower jaw and my speech is affected.
Would appreciate any advice to avoid this.
Janet
Hello Janet , it might be a good idea , as its all healed now , to see if your consultant can cut a bit of the flap back . I had similar as my lower gums are made of skin from my stomach (lower jaw replacement ) had over grown and my top teeth were cutting into them so they cut the new gum back and it seems ok now , that was about 8 years ago . Im positive they can do something similar for you . Wishing you all the best, take care.
