My husband had biopsies of the base of tongue tumour a week last Friday so is day 12 now but he seems to be more sore than he was and asking for softer food again, he’s been following the advice they gave him re pain killers and salt water rinses but I’m worried he may be getting an infection.
We are a bit between everything at present as he doesn’t get the formal follow up results appointment till the 18th and the go says the hospital have taken over now.
Did nyone else experience anything like this at this point , all advice welcome,
L

Hi Hazel
Thank you on both counts, I will get some Aspirin and get him to try that.
Will definitely report back when we have the full details, I’m just afraid about how long it’s all taking and the damn thing in his neck is growing and visibly bigger now than a few weeks ago. Can’t believe we still have another week to wait and then presumably more waiting for start of treatment.
Thank you for the support

Hi Lesley
I sympathise my husband's biopsy site is getting more sore by the day - more than the tonsillectomy site. He is also only able to eat soft foods.

Hi B
Thank you, it’s useful to know that although I wouldn’t want anyone else to suffer as well. It’s so hard isn’t it!
lets hope this week goes quick and they both get a bit of relief from the pain.
thank you
