god this forum is so hard to navigate around ! I can find my previous posts but seem only able to reply to the last poster which is nothing to do with what I want to ask!

very frustrating and bad user format

so anyhow im post radio chemo hospital etc ,a few times ive coughed up blood or had blood running in the back of my throat ,its not from my lungs it seems from the back of my nasal cavities so I assume its just healing as theres skin in it ,is this normal ? is it a good or bad thing

  • Hi Shaun. I occasionally had a bit of blood in the phlegm that I coughed up but nothing major. I think you should contact your consultant and get an appointment to see him. You can then raise all your issues and ask fir better support

    good luck

  • Hello Shaunk, its not a bad thing and can be good if just clearing blood but I would definitely phone the hospital and ask for an urgent appointment if it continues to bleed as it might need a stitch or something. I also saw your other post about aftercare, I agree with the other guy and was looked after quite well and had checkups every two weeks, to begin with, nobody actually phoned me to ask how I was doing. Sometimes you have to pester them as they are so overworked as I have seen it first hand. We know this is not the best forum to get on but it has got a lot better and we are working to make it easier to get around. I will bring this up with the administration as it seems to be frustrating you. All the best, take care.

  • Hello Shaun, if you want to reply to someone in particular at any point type @ followed (without a space) by their user name and it'll appear as and they'll get a notification email.

I really cant figure this forum platform and I use a lot of forums some I even used to run myself,

this one is so lacking in easily accessible continuity for instance im replying to chris 2012

it gives no indication of that and doesnt quote his previous comments so its easy to get confused after posting

  • As I said Shaun if you want to respond to Chris just use the @ followed by the user name and it'll come up as .

I'm also a user (and an admin) on other forums and I know that all have their differences; personally I'd like the ability to "quote" when replying to someone but the powers that be at Macmillan for some reason disabled it a few years back. The above practice though is a functional replacement, it's easy to identify who you're replying to even though you're not quoting back their post.

  • Hello Shaun, the only thing I can think of is that you have slipped off their radar, if this continues I would strongly suggest you get into contact with the head and neck before the 24th as this is three weeks away. It just seems weird that you have not been earlier. All the best.
