hi I posted before, about partners incurable sinus cancer, I’ve be n told now it’s hpv sinus cancer, which could be controlled with radiotherapy has anyone else had this diagnosis that can help me understand abit more thanks
Hi Sarahgp
I'm so sorry about your partner's diagnosis.
I don't have direct experience of this cancer (mine was base of tongue) although what I can tell you is that HPV driven cancer generally has a much better outcome and responds well to radiotherapy.
I wish you and your partner all the best with the treatment and that it has a successful outcome.
Linda

Thank u, my partners is in his sinus they say it’s incurable but treatable, he can only have radiotherapy as it not be removed, they say it hpv cancer is this the same as urs x
Your welcome. Yes I was h p v 16+ my oncologist first words to me was it’s curable. Ok they couldn’t operate as was of my lymph nodes that was holding the dead cancer cells was too near my spine to operate on but the chemotherapy and radiation killed all the cells. My friends Neil was also inoperable as his was in his nasal cavity but he had chemotherapy n radiotherapy and was clear if cancer late January. We both have to have check ups fir the next 5 years but we’re told the success rate with h p v 16+ is towards the 90 % if caught early mine was T2n2nm Neil’s was T4n2 nm. So maybe ask again as the m d t initial meetings are overwhelming? Agree re inoperable . But remember we can only pass our experience s on as we aren’t medical people
