Hi there, I'm on here representing my mum who has just this last week began her chemo journey.
She has had a hard time this year, like many I know. Loneliness solitude and hospital stays during covid regulations have also affected her mental wellbeing as well as physical.
Macmillan suggested she may benefit from chatting with someone outside of the family about her feelings, worries and concerns, and just in general about what she is going through. She finds it difficult to communicate with us as she might like.
Is this something which happens on this forum site ? Does it help to speak with others in the same or similar situation ?
Any replies appreciated, thank you.
Hi
Thank you for taking the time to post on here on behalf of your Mum, hopefully you will find the site of benefit to you also, as there is a lot to get your head around.
I joined this site as representation of my Husband who was diagnosed with terminal OC in May last year, I found out that there are different types of tumours, varying treatments and some people who could have surgery and others who can't. There is a wealth of knowledge, experience and understanding here and as much as it may be the last place that either you or Mum may want to find yourselves, it really is a welcoming place to be.
I am not sure what your Mum's diagnosis or staging is, but if she would like to discuss anything, we are here... I am in and out of the site quite regularly and would be happy to communicate with you or Mum.. I have a blog which I build with my husband Here which may help in someway.
I have found a this site it a great source of support, but if Mum is unsure, as an alternative, Mum can call the helpline for free on 08088080000, 8am to 8pm everyday, if there are specific medical questions that she may need answers to.
Here for you both, anytime
