The cancer has returned , husband has a small spot on his lung and a small spot on his operation site. We are currently in India trying to enjoy a very long and overdue holiday. It’s sooo hot. He’s starting MR Linac Radiotherapy again when we are back . He is still also on Pembro.
Husband is certain this will keep happening until they can no longer treat. I like to try and be a little more optimistic . He was told he’d never have surgery and 6-12 months to live in Dec 24!
Just wanted to give you an update , sending positive vibes to you all ️
Sorry to hear this tiff but thank you so much for the update ! We all have this thought in the back of our minds, my husband calls it the monkey getting out of the cage and we have to shut him back in again and get on with our lives as best we can ! SO shut that monkey back in his cage, enjoy your well deserved holiday and deal with him when you get home !! Sending love and hugs Tricia xx
I love that term! Hope your husband is doing ok huni ️
Yes he’s my rock !! And we all need one of those xx
Hi Tjasai. Good to hear from you, and despite your news, I hope you can both enjoy every bit of your holiday.
From time to time we all forget to appreciate the ‘here and now’, which is so important.
Enjoy the heat - it’s miserable back here. Best wishes, Julie x
hi my dads cancer also returned just under a year after the all clear - we were told you can only have radiotherapy once ?
hi daughterNB77, i had radiotherapy after a mastectomy and then again before removing my oesophagus. when a lymph node on my throat flagged up hot on a pet scan, they were all set to zap it again, but the radiotherapist oncologist double checked the overlay of treatment, and cancelled the radiotherapy he was just about to schedule as it would have damaged normal skin.
In the end i pushed for them to get a surgeon to remove the nodes, which came back clear after all the melt down of being told its back. So every situation is different, it was only because another oncologist said we will refer you elsewhere for them just to remove it, rather than just watch and wait. So deffo worth asking what all the options are, and where it has showed up will make a difference.
wishing you all the best
jules x
