My dad having pet scan to see if the cancer has gone anywhere else there have found 2 tumour in is wind pipe one at the top just below his throat and one blocking his stomach we’re there couldn’t get the camera down so doing this pet scan just wondered if there tell you the results at the scan or there send you a appointment to se the doctor to get the results Thankyou
Hi and welcome to the community. I'm not a member of this group, so no experience of this particular cancer. Hopefully someone will be along to help with the treatment side of things. As regards PET scans, results are not usually available on the same day. The images are sent away to be analysed and results are then sent to the consultant. In general, there is a wait to get the results. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
Hi Bella
So sorry that you find yourself writing here, how worrying this must be for you, waiting on further tests and results for Dad.
The PET scan will however be able to highlight so many different things and ensure that Dad gets the right treatment.
I hope you get the appointment soon (if you haven't already) and the results, well they could be a few days to a few weeks in my experience. Hopefully your Dad will get his as soon as possible.
is he undergoing any treatment currently?
