Dad's operation desicion

I too have sore throat and bad taste in mouth which seems worse after chemo. I gargle with salt water which helps for a short while.

Hi Frank I hope you don’t mind me asking, why did you go straight for op & not have chemo? My husband has oesophageal cancer, 10c tumour at the bottom attaching to stomach with a spread to surrounding lymph nodes but thankfully no major organs. So far we have had an endoscopy, ct, mri, pet-ct & laparoscopy - chemo is still 3-4 weeks away & it feels like a life time. He’s really struggling with eating & relies mostly on his shakes, ice cream & cheese cakes… not the healthiest but it’s all he can just about manage. No one told us we could skip chemo & go straight to surgery, he’s loosing weight drastically but also the toll not being able to swallow is taking on him, my heart is broke. Glad to hear your doing so well now, we can’t wait to hopefully be able to say that also. Liz x

Ryss I am glad to hear your recovering well from surgery. My husband is about to start pre surgery chemo. Did the chemo help with your eating? Sean is really struggling to eat anything at the moment. I’ve 3 young kids & they are distraught when they see their daddy being sick every time he tried to eat. Liz x
