Hi when I was at the oncologist this week he told me I would 1 full day of chemotherapy then 3 weeks of tablets then repeat it on the 3rd visit I will start 6 weeks of 5 days of radiotherapy alongside chemotherapy. He said the whole treatment would be over In 12 weeks. Has anyone else had treatment this way any advice on how to deal with this would be great I am getting worried about this
Hi Mandy,
My husband is having the same treatment and is currently on the second round of Chemotherapy. In the first round ie the full day and then 3 weeks of tablets he really had no side effects at all. This second round has made him a little more tired. The only other side effect was from the 3 days of anti sickness tablets that you take at the start and they gave him constipation, but they give you medication for that too. I would say don’t worry in advance, everyone is different and you get so much help that they can support you with any problems if you tell them.
We have the first round of chemo plus radiotherapy starting on 6th April so I will let you know how we get on with that if you want me to.
Good luck, take one thing at a time and try not to worry too much.
