    Thanks for that,

This is my second cancer, had thyroid cancer 4 years ago.

Had to have my left eye removed as the cancer was to big to treat.

The biopsy showed a spur had broken through the eye so 4 weeks of radiotherapy followed.

Now waiting for appointment with the melanoma clinic.

Feeling very down about it all, no local support. I have a cataract in my right eye so vision failing a bit.

Phrases such as "Keep your chin up" and "It'll be OK in the end" don't really help do they?  I sincerely do hope you can stay positivewith the bother you are having.  As I only have a small(ish) melanoma which has been proton zapped,

I realise just how lucky I am compared with your good self.

My very best wishes to you.  Cheers,  Tony.

Thank you for that, I was hoping for a better out come when I went to Liverpool. But the melanoma was to big and in the wrong place, they could only offer 50% chance of getting rid of the melanoma and the treatment would last 18 months to 2 years. We live in the Worcester area so the many visits to Liverpool would have been a nightmare.

The eye was removed in Birmingham eye hospital. I managed my first cancer {thyroid } well but second time around it is not so easy.

I finished my radiotherapy 3 months ago and I am still waiting to go to the melanoma clinic.

If it has spread I do not know what I shall do. Just some thing to go with the diabetic and COPD.

I suppose at 72 I can expect problems

  • Hi Mal

I had a large tumour too and had the eye removed in 1988, so over 30 years ago. I've also now got a second cancer, this time a blood cancer, so I understand how you must feel.

Good luck and hope everything stays well.
