I got diagnosed in March but it took some time to see an oncologist
they started me on anastrazol. and 2 sessions radiation on sacrum plus IV for. the bones but I was continuing to loose weight lost over 15 KG. and getting weaker and more pain. then I went to London to get a second opinion and seeing a. doctor privately who is prescribing a different protocol abemaciclib that seems to be working I stopped painkillers. started to gain weight. and feeling stronger so I am hopeful but this protocol is very expensive. So far I didnt have any neurological involvement but now since last night I am getting pins and needles and tingling in my right foot. Does anyone else have something like this cancer in spine that might be starting to attack the nerves? does anyone else have epxerienc with abemaciclib?
Hi fra. I got diagnosed with secondary breast cancer and bone mets in September 2024. I have mets in sacrum pelvis, whole of spine, ribs and skull. Are you paying for the abemaciclib because it is available on the NHS? I had radiotherapy on one of my spine mets. I take tramadol for the pain. I am on ribociclib which is similar to abemaciclib and I get pins and needles in my hands. My oncologist referred me to orthotics and they got me fitted for a back brace for my spine. I only wear it when I walk my dogs or around the house.
