I have recently been diagnosed with grade 4 breast cancer. I have a drain in my right lung which is still draining 2/3 times weekly by District Nurses. I feel I am coping with the treatment and devastating news except for 1 thing. The 1 week I am off the Palbociclib I feel extremely nauseous and am often physically sick. I can’t eat anything for the week and feel it is undoing the good I get from the 3 weeks I am on the pills. I was prescribed Metocloparamide and after 1 week I felt better but not sure if it’s the anti sickness pills or just restarting the Palbociclib. Does anyone else experience this? Does it get better further into treatment?

I am sorry it’s taken a while for someone to respond to you. Unfortunately your message had got locked so no one could respond - I don’t know why, but my colleagues in the admin team have unlocked it. I am one of the community champions on the breast cancer pages. I have metastatic tnbc so I haven’t any experience of palbociclib or fulvestrant as they don’t work on my cancer. I do have plenty of sympathy though as have experienced all kinds of delights on my own treatment journey. It’s good that you are generally coping well with the treatment. I am not sure how many cycles you have been through, but issues can settle over time. Your oncology team might have the best understanding of what causes this. Hoping it eases for you.
