hi im new. just like to chat
Hi Lindsay, I hope your coping as well as you can, i was diagnosed with Lobular BC in Nov 21, a complete year of treatment included, Docetaxel, bilateral mastectomy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy, I was due to have 3 years of Zometa at 6 monthly intervals but 2 days after my last treatment I was told that mine had metastasised to my lungs and brain, I have been on Enhertu since April 2023 so coming up to 3 years, I count my blessing every single day, I have very few side effects, my taste isn’t so great now and I’m finding as time goes on that chemo does make me feel a little washed out on the evening of chemo and the following day, however this is perfectly manageable so I’m definitely not complaining, I recently had my scan results and the Enhertu is keeping everything under control. However I did find out that the cancer is IN the brain whereas I was led to believe it was the brain lining but it’s both, a bit of a shock to say the least. I was told at my 2nd diagnosis that at that time there were 3 lines of treatment so I consider myself as very luckily that I’m still on the 1st line. I have heard on here that the side effects of Enhertu can be quite nasty but for me their not and I hoping they are not to bad for you too? I was 58 when diagnosed, 62 now, I live a very full and busy life having chosen to take early retirement. I hope my positive experience gives you some hope. Take care and listen to your body.
