Hello everybody
Yesterday, after months of tests scan and X-rays l started treatment for secondary breast cancer in the jaw bone, took the first tablet Anastrozole 1mg yesterday. I have to have a further bone scan to see if its anywhere else in my bones as Doctor say where mine has shown up is very unusual. Anyway l wish you all lots of luck with your treatments.
HI
I have small lesions in my bones. I am taken letrozole and Palbociclib at the moment on round three. I have a CT scan week on Tuesday to see how it's going.. I dont mind scans it's the results I dread hope everything goes ok and best of luck with treatment. X
Morning Geordie Kaz,
Many thanks for your good wishes, like you l dread the results of scans, received another appointment for 31 August at the Sunshine centre, Truro, don't know what for!! l am waiting for a bone scan to see if the cancer is anywhere else in my bones but that won't be done there, its a case of keep taking the tablet for now. How are you finding your treatment? any side affects? Take care of yourself and fingers X'd your scan results will be good
Hi Curlyp
I have had achey joints and I did have mouth ulcers when I first started taken these, I now use antiseptic mouth wash so no further issues there. Also was originally on 125 mg for the Palbociclib but after taken one course of it reduced it to 100mg due to low neutrophils been ok on 100mg. Have you had any side effects? Is the letter you have received for an appointment with a specialist nurse or a oncologist?
Hi Geordie Kaz
So far no side effects apart from feeling tired in the afternoons mainly, eyes felt a bit funny today but that's it so far.
My next appointment on 31 August is with the Doctor l saw on Tuesday just gone at the Sunrise Centre.
I have an appointment for a Bone Density scan 25 August as it showed in my full body scan some weeks ago now that l have a fracture to my back which was an old injury, no idea what they can do about that.
I have quite a lot of pain in my left jaw where the cancer is so have been told to up the amount of Paracetamol's l was prescribed for my back pain years ago now.
I rinse my mouth out with a warm solution of salty water which really helps the pain.

Hi Curlyp
I get tired as well but donr know if it is side effects or because I get up early because I dont sleep well. Hope you get pain under control xx
Morning G Kaz
Through the night last night l was waking up on the hour right through having to get out to the loo till 5ish when l think l must have dropped off, woke again at 8.15 which is late for me. Do you think its the tablet which l have been taking at night, do you think it would be better to take in the morning?
The pain has subsided quite a bit since taking 2 paracetamols 4 times a day as advised by the doctor last Tuesday instead of 2 twice a day.
Hope you are feeling OK today and can have a good weekend. XX
Hi CurlyP
Hope your feeling better it may make a difference to take medication in the morning it's worth a try x
