I have just come to the end of 6 cycles of Docetaxel and am continuing with hormone injections three weekly. I now have a dull ache in the bottom of my rib cage.
I am terrified that my plurel infusion, which caused my diagnosis of Secondary breast cancer is back already. I have rung the BCN's expecting reassurance that this is unlikely, only to find myself booked in for a CT scan tomorrow morning!
With the state of things in the NHS I'm thinking they must be worried too, for a scan to be arranged so quickly?
This is the thing I find hardest to cope with the ongoing stress and worry and the general roller coaster of the cancer journey.
Jude
Hi Jude, I just wanted to wish you luck with your scan tomorrow. This disease does mess with your head and every new pain and ache I overthink and convince myself it's spread to that area. You definitely have a great BCN there, someone who listened to you and addressed your concerns so quickly. I often read the opposite on these sites. They are probably just being cautious. Good luck
Jools xx
Hope all goes well with scan, and I know it’s a panic when they say see you straight away , but at least will put your mind at rest quicker. So good that they have arranged it quickly. I agree that every ache brings back reminder that this thing will never go away! I too had 6 docatexel and now on phesgo injection 3 weekly - like you I sometimes don’t feel as secure as when having chemotherapy, but need to trust oncology and stay positive.
Take care and hope all ok x
Latest...oncologist has rung to say the scan is clear and continues to show a positive response to the treatment. He said he never expected anything different! So as you said Winship we have to trust them. Jools, my head is definitely the problem , I'm working on it.
Thank you both once again xx
