I know everybody is different and there is no way to give an accurate prognosis, and I also know that my mums oncologist is the best person to ask. I have read about the signs of dieing and what to exoect near the end, but I can't find any information on how things get to that stage.
My mum was diagnosed in July with mets to the pelvis. Her calcuim levels are slightly high. She takes Abemaciclib and has Denosumab injections every 8 weeks.
Can mets to the pelvis kill you alone? Or do we wait for it to spread to other organs? Can that happen in a month?
Are there other signs to know that the end is near?
I am a planner and would find great comfort in having all the information so nothing takes me by surprise.
Would really appraiciate others stories or information, good or bad.
Thank you
Hi Wren2004 welcome to the forum
I can understand where you are coming from but welcome to a world where there is no planning (things happen as they happen), no certainty and lots that can take you by surprise and with the best will in the world none of us can do anything about this. For someone like yourself who needs to plan and doesn't like surprises this time can seem very stressful for you but again little that anyone can do to alleviate this.
I wish I could help by giving answers to your queries but I cant unfortunately but what I could suggest is to spend all the time that you can with your mum and just love her as your mum and take each day as it comes. xxxx
Hi
please try not to worry too much (I know it’s hard).
I had breast cancer in 2017, 2020 diagnosed with secondary breast cancer to the lung, liver, bones and ovaries! It’s 2021 now and I’m doing better than I was last year and living life normally.
secondary cancer is not a death sentence, many people are living many years. Even if it does spread there is now soo much they can do.
All you can do is be there for your mum and don’t stress yourself out worry, leave that to the experts.
sending love
sam x
