Hey
Got diagnosed on 30th Sept 2025. Have had 2 doses of EC (3rd Nov & 21st Nov). Used cold cap.
I have thin hair but (usually) lots of it.
Read advice here so only been washing my hair twice a week. Today, I reckon i lost about 30%. It was handfuls.
I guess my question is, will today be it and I'll keep the rest for a while? Or is this the start and once it starts coming out it won't stop?
Appreciate any advice!
Just to update my situation, in case anyone had the same question as me:
12th Dec - Had my 3rd dose a week ago, and I've still got hair on my noggin. Got a bit of a Friar Tuck/ Trump comb-over situation going on as the top is the thinnest, with more hair round the sides, . I have been *very* gently brushing my hair. Am still losing a *lot* of hair each time, but what can you do!
Main thing for me was that, just because it started to drop didn't mean that it all did in one go. I'm holding on to my Goldilocks and the 3 hairs situation for as long as possible, but my wig collection is ready to go...
Yay to retaining some hair and to be nearer towards finishing your chemo. Where did you go for your wig collection? I’ve been looking on Amazon!
Thanks ️
Vinted!!! I'm not going for realistic, just loads of different styles. May have got a bit carried away ... got 6 wigs for under £50
Ha! Love it I was looking at multicoloured ones on Amazon that come with matching sunnies

Hi
I’m 63 diagnosed with BRCA2 sep 2023
was recommended to have ovaries/tubes out as I’m passed menopause, and discouraged to have DMX due to age. Lots of BC in family
I had 2nd MRI in October and a lump was found, had biopsy etc
results on 4th Nov and it’s TNBC with slight hormonal levels 3/8 so I need treatment to stop any spread
had lumpectomy on in 1st Dec all lymph nodes and margins were clear
healing really well and not too painful
start 6 months of chemotherapy on 8 January
I’m really dreading it but I know it’s the medicine that’s going to help stop any cancer returning
im in Newcastle/Gateshead and I’ve had amazing care from everyone
x we can do this x x
Exactly! We’re doing this for our future selves. My chemo starts on 2nd Jan!
Good luck xxx
It’s a frightening time for us but I’ve found an account on instagram and she’s really reassured me this is doable
not going to be easy but yes definitely for our future selves
good luck
