Hey
Got diagnosed on 30th Sept 2025. Have had 2 doses of EC (3rd Nov & 21st Nov). Used cold cap.
I have thin hair but (usually) lots of it.
Read advice here so only been washing my hair twice a week. Today, I reckon i lost about 30%. It was handfuls.
I guess my question is, will today be it and I'll keep the rest for a while? Or is this the start and once it starts coming out it won't stop?
Appreciate any advice!
Thanks. That’s good advice! I haven’t watched the Good Place. I’ll check it out!
As a good news share, my cousin is 2 years on from her chemo & herceptin breast cancer treatment. She has a beautiful head of hair and has just had a little miracle baby!
Yeah I pencilled my eyebrows in but I do anyway so wasn’t really obvious. I had them microbladed a year and a half ago so that helped carve out an outline! It was the lack of lashes that I hated as you can’t really hide no lashes. I did put false ones on but they did look fake. Luckily it was summer so I could wear my sunglasses a lot!
So - my cancer trawling has continued and I have a recommendation - Daniel Field. He specialises in chemo products to align with cold capping and keeping your hair / it growing back, as well as other chemo skincare stuff. He also does non-toxic colouring too. I've booked a consultation with him tomorrow. It was recommended on the Breast Cancer Now online forum (yes - I have treated my cancer as a full time job in the last 24 hours!). His products seem to be well recommended. He even has a salon where he does cancer care. But it's in Barnet - North London, which is miles from me. I don't want to get my hopes up but... worth a punt. Thought I'd share. It's expensive, but at this point I'm prepared to go the full hog. I usually spend wild amounts on hair colouring / bleaching anyway, so I figured it is doable. Breast Cancer Now forum discussion is literally called 'Daniel Field'. Anyway - thought I'd share in case it helps us all a bit. Sending you lots of love. Going to quietly come off my cancer obsession now and attend to my children! Oh dear...
Yeah I can imagine lashes are the worst bit. I read something about magnetic lashes. I may have made that up. But might google it!
Ignore me. Magnetic lashes need lashes to fix to and can cause lash loss. But this is recommended by my dear friend google www.cancerpal.co.uk/.../c-lash-false-eyelashes-naturals-multipack
I spoke to their consultant and good the inside track on their products. Happy to share here if helpful? Just don’t want to sound like a sort of Avon Lady for cancer.
Hi I will be starting chemotherapy in the next two weeks and I have said yes to cold cap. I just bought Moogoo shampoo and conditioner has anyone else tried this and is it good? It cost enough so hong it will help keep whatever I am lucky to keep in reasonable condition
