Hi all!

I will start radiotherapy on 12/02 till 05/03. 15 sessions. I have been awake for 2 hours and it’s 5am.

Just a little anxious! After reading about side effects and long term ones.

I tell myself that not everybody reacts the same…

I have had a lumpectomy, 9 lymph nodes removed, a melanoma wide incision and 2 sentinelle nodes removed.

Now it is time for radiotherapy. I am more anxious for this than I have been for the previous surgeries. I have recovered very well.

What scares me the most it’s the fatigue…

Also which cream shall I use…. There seem to be quite a choise…I have been using Aveeno daily moisturising lotion for my breast and arm and I wonder if you can suggest something more specific for radiation treatment.

I also read that I could loose up to 10% of my weight! I am already quite slim and do not want to loose anymore!!!

Well, I had a cup of herbal tea and 1 egg on toast!

I hope to sleep for a couple of hours.

  • Hi I have 10 sessions of radiotherapy and am on my 7th session ,which I had today no real tiredness a little discomfort in the area ,I had a lumpetomy and 2 lymph nodes removed but so far so good hope this helps a little.

  • Hi I had my 1st oncology appointment today and was told I would have to wait a few months before my radiotherapy starts which is disappointing but I'm sure there are others waiting with node involvement that need it quicker than me.

  • Hi I had my lumpetomy 10th of October didn't start my radiotherapy until 28th of January my lymph nodes were clear so maybe that's why .

  • Hi

They do want you to have healed completely before they start radiotherapy. I wonder if having lymph node involvements takes longer than someone who hasn't had this.

If you are having chemo.  you will also have radiotherapy a few weeks after chemo. ending

    Kindest Wishes, Lesley
