I have my first of 6 EC Chemo sessions tomorrow. I was just re reading the information booklets and it said to have a light meal "a few hours" before treatment. My session is 9.30 a.m which would mean having a light breakfast at 7.00 a.m. Am I best to skip breakfast as I don't want it to revisit me, I'd rather be hungry! Thanks.
Thanks Shade for replying so quickly. I hadn't thought of skipping breakfast until I read that and it put me in a quandary. I'm grateful for your response thanks
Thanks Coddfish, that's really comforting to know x
During my chemo sessions which seemed to last most of the day (on a couple of occasions into the evening) Sandwiches etc were brought round at lunch time, no one ever suggested not eating. I was fine. Take the anti sick meds you are given when they say. Don't wait until you feel or are sick. Chemo is tough but do-able and staff on my ward were all lovely. Good luck xxx
I always eat before I go, they do come round with food but I always take my own, hospital food is never great xx
Thanks very much, very reassuring x
Thanks so much. I did have Granola for breakfast and all went well. I had a sandwich and crisps for lunch too as I was there when it was offered. I made sure I had plenty to drink too and suffered no ill effects. First session went much better than expected including scalp cooling. I'll have to see what the next few days bring, I'm sure I'll have some off days but great start xx
