Hey there,
I was seen the day before Christmas eve for my mammogram and ultrasound as per the 2 week pathway.
They took several biopsies and I was taken into the nurse who saw me first who said has anyone spoken to you... I said no... and she instantly brought out the tissues and said I'm so sorry.
I asked what she was talking about and she basically said while she cannot 100% confirm until results of biopsies... it looks like cancer.
Both Mammogram and ultrasound code are showing as a 5 and they've seen over 5 lymph nodes which are enlarged and concerning as well as the dimpling and also lump.
I am desperate to find some support as I feel like I've been given a partial diagnosis but they won't say for sure....
I've since had bloods and mri and ct scan.
The wait is awful.
I know we are all different but keen to know others diagnosis from a lump, dimpling and also 5 nodes.... for at least some rough estimate of what could be.
I keep thinking I've imagined it all.
Thank you for sharing. Gosh bloody cancer eh!
Glad you are feeling good. What treatment are you having?x
I'm going to be 61 in April, took VR on 1st August 2024, was having a chilled time and 2 months later bam. I am trying to pretty much go with the flow, stressing won't change anything except my own well being. Doesn't always work but mostly trying to get on with life. I agree with writing it down, think that's why I am sharing my experiences on here so much. Helps me to let things go. Good luck to you xxx
Has anyone had dimpling which has turned out not to be invasive breast cancer.....
I'm driving myself crazy here.
If I was you, then I’d call the breast cancer now helpline and talk it through. It’s a lot to process and at this moment in time you don’t have a diagnosis either way. Macmillan or breast cancer now will talk it all through and calm you a little. It’s a horrendous feeling. Everything seems so out of your hands. But once you get a diagnosis either way then you’ll know the route you’re taking. Take care x
Hey
Been thinking of you this afternoon. Hope all is well x
Hi. Just got back from hospital. Confirmed ductal cancer stage 3 in breast and lymph node. Surgery on 22nd Jan then radiotherapy and possibly/probably chemo.
Really good at the hospital though and I'm fine with it, just ready to get it done and finished with.
Be thinking about you on Thursday. XXXX
Wow they're moving quickly which is amazing isn't it and you've a plan which is what's needed.
Did they ask what surgery you'd prefer or tell you what was best?
Here if need a chat.
Thank you x
She told me only a lumpectomy was necessary. They call it a wide Local excision. It will go round the side of my breast and then into the armpit. My lumps are right breast, right side so this surgery works out best.
She sat with us for over an hour explaining everything thoroughly, then a breast cancer nurse went through everything and gave me loads of leaflets. Put your trust in these people. For us it's a once in a lifetime thing. For them they do it every day.
Honestly the chemo was pretty horrible. But it does end and it is doable. You will get through it.
