I’m desperately seeking someone who has (or has had) the same type of diagnosis.. until a a few days ago I didn’t even know that there were different types of BC.
im booked in for a lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy. I’ve been told I may (or may) not need radiotherapy and a daily pill for 5 years… it all seems so vague and distressing
Hi Janey
My surgery was the 20th so I’m a couple of weeks behind you. I’m also healing well but the horrible nerve sensation from the armpit incision is driving me nuts. It still feels really sore!
I'm guessing you’re really churned up about your results, I know will be too. The waiting is torture isn’t it.
Like you, I can’t stand the thought of going through all this healing only to have to go through it again Let’s hope neither of us have to!
The nights are the worst for me. I keep going over and over the scenarios and can’t believe how much my life has changed in the last 8 weeks.
Sending you massive positivity for Monday!!! Xx

I know exactly what you mean - I’ve covered every possible scenario - I know it might be over thinking but I just need to know! I think it prepares you too for the questions you might need to ask.
my nerve pain is still the same I’m afraid - so sore in my armpit but I’ve rang the nurses a couple of times now and they don’t seem to think it’s unusual.
I just want to get Monday over with now.
It is all such a massive change for us - one day we’re okay and then this!
Let’s try and stay as positive as we can - got everything crossed for both of us xx
Hi Janey,
I’ve had a skin sparing mastectomy on December 15 with reconstruction as my lumps were over 7cm . Luckily they were able to get margins still and I had my results this Wednesday. My nodes were clear, which is great news, so if I had clear nodes with much more cancer then hopefully yours will be clear too.
Still sore under the arm and other spiky nerve pain- but to be expected I understand.
Good luck with Monday- sending positive thoughts.
xx
There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to the order of results. So,e people get them really quickly. My consultant told me they don’t always arrive in order of op and told me it would be between 2-6 weeks. I guess it also depends on area (I’m in Cheshire) where are you based?
I am going to do some work from home next week (even though I’m signed off until the 17th) as I just have to occupy my mind and think about something other than bloomin’ cancer!
Lets hope Monday brings some positivity. Then you’ll be in the next round of decision making and treatment but al least you’ll know what your are facing. That’s how I see it anyway.. it so easy to overthink things x

Hiya - hopefully your HER2 results will come back as negative (no chemo). The MRI was a surprise as when I had one before I lay flat and listened to music. The boob MRI is very different. Face down with boobs in a kind of bucket thing… itndoesnt hurt but it’s so uncomfortable. I got the results from that really quickly and had my lumpectomy and lymph removal the following week. I couldn’t believe the speed of everything. Waiting for the results is torture… obviously they determine the next steps… I’ve been told radiotherapy and letrozole too. Although I’m not keen on the tablets as a ‘just in case’ option but we shall see.
Have they told you how big your lump is?

Hi Im in Leicestershire - I was sent the date for my appointment before Christmas so I think it would’ve been sooner if the holiday wasn’t in the middle.
I had a 2 week sick note but only work part time anyway so it’s worked out okay. I mainly work from home so haven’t had to drive. It definitely helps to occupy your mind.
So you haven’t got a date for your follow up yet? Hopefully it won’t be too long xx
Nope no date yet… hopefully not much longer.
I need to fill my time and distract myself but don’t feel up to driving to the office every day so wfh is the best option, Luckily my employer is really flexible and supportive. pleas let me know how you get on on Monday. I’ll have everything crossed for you x

Fingers crossed it all goes to plan for you. They told me my lump was 9mm and grade 2 from the CT scan and then a week later, after my MRI, they said it was actually 33mm but still grade 2.. such a massive varianc I was freaked but they didn’t seem too concerned. They told me that the mri’s are much more accurate. But the good news was that it hadn’t spread to my other breast and the lump was contained.. hop
ully yours will be the same
