I’m desperately seeking someone who has (or has had) the same type of diagnosis.. until a a few days ago I didn’t even know that there were different types of BC.
im booked in for a lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy. I’ve been told I may (or may) not need radiotherapy and a daily pill for 5 years… it all seems so vague and distressing Pensive

  • Thank you. I will have a look on Tim Tok. You’re so right about everything changing. How are you feeling after your op? X

  • Thank you for responding. I read it whilst waiting to see the surgeon today so it was very timely. Hopefully my results will be negative too… just got to get the surgery out of the way now.
do you feel ‘back to normal’ now? I keep wondering if anything will ever be the same again!
I’ve read a few rotten stories about side effects of the meds and that worries me but I’m trying hard not to fret too much. I guess I can face all that once I know exactly what I’m dealing with and have my results.
sending hugs back to you Kissing heart

  • Hi. Everything went well, stiff and sore but all manageable with regular pain relief.  I had a bleed last night so off to hospital this morning again to get checked out. The breast care nurses have been amazing, just knowing you can call any time has been so reassuring. Surgeon was happy the bleeding was nothing to be concerned about and will disperse.

  • I’m new to the forum so hopefully I’m replying right, I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in August, I’ve had my biopsy and tag, my biopsy shows another component to my tumour stage 3, so they decided I needed a full breast reconstruction (I have large breasts and my cancer was at the top of my breast) I had my reconstruction in October it’s been a bit of a nightmare Disappointed but I’m finally feeling much better now, my central was negative and nodes where negative too and I’m seeing my oncologist in January

  • Thank you for your kind words and reassurance. So far, they have said that they do t think chemo will be necessary bit I’m aware that they are just words until I get my results after surgery x

  • Thank goodness it was ok. It must have been worrying. I’m sure you just want to heal. Let’s hope it all settles quickly. X

  • So glad you are feeling better. I’m new here too.
My surgeon told me having large breast helps (I’m glad they come in useful for something)

I’ve opted for a lumpectomy without any reconstruction (which means no cutting around into my back) in the hope that I heal quicker. My boobs are really big so there is a fair bit to go at ..

Great that your tests were negative.. hopefully your treatment will be minimal. Good luck x

  • I think they opted for the mamaplasty because the lump was right up the top of my breast so when they removed it it would of left a very big dint, I’ve gone down 5 cup sizes on my right breast, I think your right going for the lumpectomy as I’ve had a lot of trouble with leakage and healing but it’s loads better now thank goodness I wish you the best of luck and hope all goes well for you x

  • Hi

I’ve seen a few of your posts on here and thought I’d see how you are doing as I am in a similar position.

I had a 1.5cm lump removed on the 7th December and a sentinel lymph node biopsy  My lump was mixed ductal and lobular.  I get my results on Monday and am terrified .

still very sore under the arm but the scars are healing well.  I’ll definitely cry if they tell me I need another op!

    How are you coping xx
