Hi, has anyone been given the new drug pembromizulab alongside chemo?
I am hoping to be given it after a mastectomy week after next.
I was first diagnosed May 2021 and had chemo,.lumpectomy and radio - given all clear.
Had a recurrence i first felt September 2022 and after.numerous scans and.biopsys a local recurrence was confirmed.
I am having a mastectomy flowed by chemo.
Any thoughts or experiences greatly appreciated
Hi, I am sorry I haven't got the experience you are looking for, but I noticed you’d not had any replies. My answer will bump your post back to the top and I hope someone with the relevant experience will be along soon. Best wishes
Hi Sarah
i am sorry you are in this situation. I don’t yet have experience of pembrolizumab. I have PD-L1 positive TNBC and an isolated secondary on my liver, which is being ablated next week. After that I will have a scan every 3 months, and my next line of treatment upon sighting of any further secondaries will be pembrolizumab plus more chemo. I have previously had surgery (WLE), 4 rounds of EC, 12 weeks of Paclitaxel, and radiotherapy. I am therefore very interested in following your experience.
Do you know what chemo drug or drugs they will use alongside it? In the trial, they got the best result (by a small margin) from combining it with Abraxane (a form of Paclitaxel), but I can’t have that as I have already had a shed load of Paclitaxel.
