So tomorrow is when i go in for a mastectomy following a lumpectomy a few weeks ago, im so frightened im also having lymph node removal. The worse thing is i know this is the right thing as the BC will be removed but i am so frightened..any words of advice please..xx
UPDATE... so i was back to my room about 9pm ish last night, told by consultant all went well ( if i remember rightly) pain is ok, currently have 2 drains in, had my tea and toast which was lovely and was actually tired (prob due to combination of lack of sleep night before, GA and all of the drugs in system)so i did get a few naps in during the night. Although i was a wreck beforehand, i have to say i am glad thats over. Thank you all for being here xx
Glad you’re feeling ok it’s good to see/read makes me feel a bit better for mine wishing u a speedy recovery xc will u be going home today ? They told me one night xx
Thanks notme. My consultant just been, all went really well and shes pleased with how it went etc. Yes will be going home this morning. Try not to worry, myself as a terrible worry wart when it comes to being a patient was in a right pickle yesterday. But as it all the lovely ladies/men here say the anticipation really is worse that the procedure. It was longer then the lumpectomy, ive been advised to totally relax this weekend and start exercises next week. I go back next Thursday for a check up and maybe drains out (all being well) then its a case of waiting for results to confirm what next treatment will be. Hapy to answer anymore questuins for you if i can xx one thing i will be glad of is to get this canula out of my hand they are so uncomfortable!!
Well done, so glad to hear your update......rest now & know that you are moving forward with things.
